The Jangheung Research Institute for Mushroom Industry held a closing ceremony of the ‘patissier baking training to bake Jangheung’s happiness’ for 20 local residents on Jul. 13, 2023.
This training was conducted over a total of 14 sessions. For local residents interested in confectionery and baking, theoretical classes to understand various breads, such as salt bread, Jangheung oak mushroom croquette, and basil baguette, as well as hands-on training to knead and bake the bread were provided.
The training was opened as part of the promotion of local oak-mushroom-based bread which is currently being developed by the Institute. It is expected that the effectiveness of linkage and cooperation through trainees will be maximized.
Meanwhile, the Institute is developing 13 types of local bread using log oak mushrooms, a local specialty, and is planning to promote tasting at the upcoming water festival.
The director of the institute(Park, Seung Bae) said, “Even during the late training session, the trainees showed enthusiasm and a high attendance rate.” He also said “This training was combined oak mushrooms with basic baking training, and we will do our best to ensure the success of Jangheung bread using its oak mushrooms in connection with the training.”
